Client Spotlight - Embedded Firmware & Hardware Development for Hot Seat

Hot Seat and InCaffeine contacted Albuquerque Software to help them develop a prototype device to help children from being left in hot cars. The device communicates with a cell phone using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and is powered from a single coin-cell battery for up to 6 months.

We analyzed several BLE modules for the prototype, and decided upon a module from Cypress Semiconductor. In about 1 month, we developed the firmware and prototype hardware, tested power consumption and battery life, and designed and fabricated a 3d-printed housing for demo purposes.
